Old WhatsApp status back in Android Beta version

The old WhatsApp status is back in the latest Android Beta version, an indication that the feature will soon be available for all users. A few weeks back WhatsApp introduced a new Snapchat like status feature. Users of the messaging app received the update with mixed feelings, something that probably prompted the return of the old WhatsApp status.

The feature is still being tested but you can get it by signing up for the WhatsApp Beta Community on Google Play. Alternatively, you can get it directly from the APK Mirror. The feature is however not yet available to all Beta testers so do not be shocked not to see it.

To see the old status feature on the Beta version of WhatsApp, press the three dot icon on the top right edge. Go to Settings, and in the About and phone number section, you will see the old status option back. It comes with the old default options of ‘Available’, ‘Busy’, ‘At school’, ‘At the movies’, etc, and more importantly, does not disappear in 24 hours.

What else is new?

The new beta update also has the WhatsApp file attachment button being moved from the top right corner to the bottom right corner right next to the camera icon. This new arrangement really makes attaching file much more easier and faster.
