Strive Masiyiwa to launch $100,000 Kwese Entrepreneur Fellows program

Zimbabwean tech billionaire, Strive Masiyiwa will next week be launching an Africa-wide entrepreneurship program. The program, dubbed the ‘Kwese Entrepreneur Fellows’ is a competition whose winners will get the opportunity to work with Dr. Masiyiwa at the Kwese offices in Johannesburg, South Africa. Two winners will get this opportunity and also get to pitch their business ideas for a potential $100,000 investment from the business mogul. Of the two winners, one will be a woman.

How to participate,

The competition is centered on one’s knowledge of Kwese services and the Strive Masiyiwa Facebook Page. The competition will be in two stages:

Stage 1: Knowledge of Kwese programming. Participants can find all information required on the Kwese websites and apps. The websites and apps include kwese.com, kwese.espn.com, kwesefied.com, Kwese app, Kwese Free sports app.

Stage 2: Winners of stage one will be required to prepare short videos pitching their business ideas. These will be judged by followers of the Facebook Page.

The competition is open to all young African entrepreneurs whether for profit or social. Strive Masiyiwa has amassed a huge following on Facebook where he mentors young Africans and shares about his personal journey as a tech entrepreneur in Africa. Last month, he held a town hall meeting in Tanzania which was aired live on Facebook. The meeting was an interface with young African meant to inspire a generation of entrepreneurs by sharing ideas and answering questions on business and leadership.

The Facebook Page is also a great marketing strategy for Kwese, with a 2.4 million+ growing audience.
